What is it?

The Canny Comic Con is a little festival of comics and sequential art which occurs in Newcastle.

Comics, comic strips, comic books, graphic novels, manga, sequential art - however you want to refer to it, the CCC aims to celebrate everything about telling stories in pictures.

The full CCC has ran twice so far, in December 2011 and December 2012, both times at Newcastle City Library. It featured a fantastic range of activities, including: talks and panel discussions, workshops, and a hall of stalls where folk could meet some of the finest comic-creating talent from the region and beyond, and it was ALL FREE.

In 2013, we took a break from the main event and held a comic-making day instead (still free and open to all) - the CCCCCC!

More events will hopefully happen in the future.

The first Canny Comic Con happened on Saturday 10th December 2011. It was the biggest comics event to be held in the North East for over fifteen years. It was a great day and everyone enjoyed themselves.
